Team and leadership development

Proactive oversight and support
Our support office team supports the facility leadership in all aspects of the business to ensure that the highest standard of care is provided and the operating plan is executed correctly. Our technology philosophy is proactive rather than reactive. If automation improves our residents and staff's care, well-being and safety and adds business value, then we take it seriously. Our IT staff continually examines the tech landscape for solutions that make sense. We have deployed technologies which automate care delivery, provide tools to make staff more productive and improve morale, and maintain building and life-safety systems while reducing risk and liability. In addition, we utilize state-of-the-art systems in running the business and protecting assets from cyber and physical danger. While improving service levels, these systems also result in improved financial outcomes.
CareRx is the leading provider of pharmacy services to LTC, retirement communities, and other congregate living settings in Canada. WCSHM has used CareRx’s medication management solutions for over 10 years for safe, on-time, and accurate medication delivery. This service is further complemented by ongoing staff training, tracking and audit protocols. Our collaboration enables WCSHM’s care team to provide best-in-class support for seniors in various care settings, including Independent Living, Assisted/Supportive Living and Long-Term Care.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness first partnered with Retirement Concepts in 2012 when we first began conversations regarding how Lifemark can assist with allied health needs and services. While starting at one long term care site in Maple Ridge, Lifemark began to build a successful working relationship. Over the course of many years, Lifemark and Retirement Concepts have effectively worked together, ensuring high standard and quality care to seniors residing in long term care. Lifemark Seniors Wellness is now working in 15 Retirement Concepts long term care homes across BC.
Throughout the transition to WCSHM, Lifemark has continued to feel supported, through open communication with the managers/DOC’s working directly on sites, as well as with the Directors of clinical, quality and education and with WCSHM Head Office. Lifemark feels grateful to have the opportunity to work with WCSHM and to continue provision of physiotherapy, occupational therapy and rehabilitation assistant services in long term care sites.

With this fact in mind, we have developed our own leadership academy to encourage emerging leaders and allow them to develop the leadership and managerial skills they will need to lead in a demanding environment. The academy also offers current leaders learning opportunities to sharpen their skill sets and deepen their knowledge.
